WoW Talents Explained
Talents aren't easy to understand at first in wow. Spending your talent points correctly, will boost your characters spells and abilities greatly. If they aren't used well, or are just randomly obtained, your character is going to be extremely behind. You will be able to access talent points when you ding level 10. Once you hit level 10, you need to decide where to spend your first talent points. This is where a WoW talent guide will help alot.
When you go to spend your first talent point, you’ll see that you have tree talent tree’s to point your points into. Each one will boost one of your primary ability sets. As an example on a shaman, the primary ability/spell sets are Restoration,Elemental Combat and enhancement.
When you are spending talent points, you'll see that you need to start at the top of a talent tree, and you won't get access to more talents until you have spent enough points to open up the next level. In general you need to spend 5 talent points in the same tree to open up the next level. There are some exceptions to this, but they are rare.
The main thing you really need to understand about the talent tree's is that the further down the tree you go, the more powerful the talents get. Spending your talent points can be tricky, because if you spend them wrong, it'll cause you to be underpowered. However if you spend them evenly in each tree, you won’t get access to talents above the basic’s, which can cause you some issues as you level up.
In the end, when you first get your character to level 10, you should stop and look though the talent trees. In doing this you’ll be able to work out how your character will be built up over the levels, and hopefully ensure you end up with a specialized class then someone who’s a little good at everything, but excel’s at nothing. There are countless talents builds you can do for each class like the holy priest build.
