Satio Affected With Software Bug

January 5th, 2010

Sony Ericsson seems to be going through real difficult times. After all the word of Aino (priced EUR 420 [US $ 620]) being affected with some touchscreen problem (Though SE calls Aino problem a media rumor and states that Aino has been doing perfectly), now it’s the Sony Ericsson Satio (it was previously called Idou). Satio seems to be having some software bug issue. Like Aino, Satio too is not anymore on the. Incidentally, Satio and Aino were introduced at the same time; and looks like they are both sailing in the same boat. Sony Ericsson though, along with Carphone Warehouse, refuses to accept the fact that Satio and Aino have been drew away from the market. You may read about the Aino issue in detail here- Sony Ericsson Runs Into Trouble With Touchscreen Issue On Aino.

Although Sony Ericsson denies the fact that there is any serious problem, it has brought out a firmware to fix the bug and also speed up the process. However, the new firmware is available only in a few regeions out of all Satio markets.

People who have used this firmware are satisfied as the firmware solved the issue (the bug). But again, it is only certain section of Satio users which has the access to this firmware.

The firmware not available to all Satio user is a little strange as this may lead to Sony Ericsson’s reputation falling down (the drop in the Sony Ericsson mobile phone sales already point out that)

The Satio cell phone is one that costs a fortune (with a high price tag of EUR 550 [US $ 800]), but now looks like it may cost people and Sony Ericsson more than a fortune.  With both highly talked about mobile phones not living up to people’s expectations, and being off sale can cause Sony Ericsson a good deal of loss.

Sony Ercisson’s Aino Into Trouble

December 26th, 2009

I recently wrote about Sony Ericsson’s SenseMe technology earphones that worked on ear’s skin motion. The headset comes with its advantages and disadvantages. The headset has advantages because it is fully automatic – stops the music itself, takes incoming calls and plays back the music. The major setback is that it works only with Sony Ericsson cell phones with Fast Port. So that leaves you with not many options. Okay that was about the new release from SE. But here is more important and serious news – Aino, the PlayStation compatible phone from SE, has encountered touch screen issue.

With Aino facing error,, SE can no longer put Aino, which was priced for EUR 420 (US 0), on sale. yet another Sony Ericsson model Satio (initially named Idou) that features a 12MP camera was held up because of some software bug (SE had launched Aino and Satio at the same time along with three other cell phones – Yari, Jalou, and Naite. So, totally two of SE’s much expected devices are not going to be introduced in the market any time soon.

Sony Ericcson (SE) may have introduced much advanced headset technologies but it’s losing out on its better devices.

I didn’t really know Sony Ericsson has had problems since its initial days in the cell phone until I read what someone had written – “Sony Ericsson is certainly having a tough time and for some reason I always find their software buggy and slow, right from the T610 (which was a great phone in its time IMO) to the K750i / K850i that I used. Hope they get on the right track with better Smartphone than just wow gadgets.”

I’ve never used a Sony Ericsson, so I don’t really know how good or bad these phones are.

5 More Sony Ericsson Handsets

October 25th, 2009

Early this year, Sony Ericsson’s Satio (was previously named Idou) created a lot hype; both for its brand and the style of brand publicity (remember those sensuous advertisement pictures. And that wasn’t the first time Sony Ericsson indulged into such Ad campaigns- In the past, there has been many similar themes used for publicizing their cell phones and thus increasing the sales). And recently I came across a blog post that talked about yet other Sony Ericsson handsets introduced soon after the noted Satio. WOW, additional 4 phones in Sony’s Ericsson’s kitty. For all the information on new phones’ features and highlights, read below.

From the blog:

Sony Ericsson Satio-

The Sony Ericsson’s much awaited Satio is set to cost a fortune. And why not? The phones’ ace design and quality features truly make it worth a fortune. The Satio can be bought at slightly over EUR 550 (US $800).

Sony Ericsson Aino -

The Sony Ericsson Aino, replete with quite a number of classy features, is currently priced EUR 420 (US $620)

Sony Ericsson Yari-

The Sony Ericsson Yari could be all yours for EUR 250 (US $370). Launched only in two colors, Black & White, the phone is said to hit only few markets.

Sony Ericsson Jalou-

The Sony Ericsson Jalou is a fashion phone, and is priced at EUR 170 (US $250). A Dolce&Gabbana edition of the phone has also been launched.

Sony Ericsson Naite-

The Naite is an eco-freindly phone, and is priced at EUR 200 (US $295).

With these five SE units already out in public, the only known SE handsets yet to come out in the market are the Xperia X2 and the rumored Xperia X3 . Now that we have it all here, we definitely expect some new tales of the Sony Ericsson handsets next in line for launch.
