Australia Not to Allow Sexy Poker Game
Computer titles are becoming a lot more argued about lately, games have become a lot more aggresive and violent and its just something you dont want to let your kids play anymore.
But out of all the countries, Australia probably have one of the highest levels on censorship rules. They have previously rejected big name titles such as Fallout three and F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin any classification, which really means that any sales of the game are made illegal until a correct licence can be put in place.
But the most recent controversy was when Australia decided to deny to give classification to a new WiiWare title called “Sexy Poker”, (WiiWare is a service that allows Wii users to download games and applications specifically designed and developed for the Wii video game console made by Nintendo) this was not because the game involved any sort of online poker, but simply because the game is just like strip poker.
As the games name suggest, Sexy Poker makes you play against numerous different females who are dressed up, the further you move on in the game the more the females will strip and become nude.
I can understand why Australia do not want to give any certification to this game, because if kids get hold of it then it can be a very tricky situation. Unlike the UK industry, Australia's highest certification level is MA15+. But a vast amount of people have been protesting to introduce a new certification label such as 18+.
