Pizza Hut’s iPhone Application

November 26th, 2009

Pizza’s seeing high sales because of an iPhone application…sound senseless? It does. But as a matter of fact the pizza sales did go high up because of iPhone application. Okay, let’s see how iPhone application and Pizza Hut are connected.

In an out-and-out innovative fashion, Pizza Hut has introduced iPhone application in U.S.. Within three months of the application’s launch, there was a good increase in the sales number of Pizza Hut pizzas. To be precise, it got revenue of million. Serious Business, I would say! The users have found this application fun and exciting to use for selecting your pizza online and then placing an order for it.

You may want to read the below extract from the blog post to verify what I am saying:

“In just three months of its release, this app has generated revenue of more than $1 million for the chain. It’s currently approaching the 1 million download mark in the US.”

“Bernard Acoca, Senior Director of Digital Marketing at Pizza Hut, Dallas, TX said: “From an income standpoint iPhone customers tend to be more affluent, and they’re in the tech-savvy 18-34-year-old demographic skewing slightly male that we tend to go after online. We always saw a steady level of growth with our mobile business via our WAP site, but to be candid it wasn’t the explosive level of growth we’ve seen with the iPhone app.

Brands surely find out new ways to promote and market their products. So did Pizza Hut. Now that’s seriously an all new way to increase the sales and scale up the business.
