The Impact Flash And Java Script Had On Online Games

February 1st, 2010

The majority of games that are played online are coded in a manner that means they can be played on most computer platforms. As a result, anyone who plays a particular game should have an experience that is pretty much the same as anyone else who plays it, regardless of what type of computer they are using. This means that instead of having many smaller, distinct online gaming communities, we now have a single, much larger one.

For those of you that are not aware of the terminology, and without getting too technical, we will over simplify things here in the explanation. Flash and Java Script are programming languages that are universal and can be read by a range of computing systems. So, no matter what computer you are using, the experience you have should be the same.

For years Macintosh and PC users were effectively separate camps, and they are still are to some people, but the advent of universal programming languages bought gamers on these two platforms together. Not only could they play and compete against each other, but they could do so on a level playing field as everyone, regardless of what type of computer they were using, was seeing and hearing the game in pretty much the same way.

It is no understatement to say that online gaming, and the Internet as a whole, took a massive step forward as a consequence of those two computing languages. Not only was the gaming world bought closer together, but people really began to sit up and take notice as to what possibilities the Internet held. It was no longer just a method of retrieving and sharing data, it was now becoming more of a multi-media type experience.

Since then, all online gamers have continued to feel the benefits. Online games these days are far above and beyond what could have been imagined a decade ago. With better technology, faster Internet connections, and better programming and coding, gamers these days can play games with movie like graphics against 20+ players simultaneously.

Such improvements within the industry have unsurprisingly led to an influx of new people to the world of online gaming – which means the market is bigger, there is more money available, and, as a result, game producers create bigger and better games in order to gain a bigger share of it. The result? Even better times for gamers everywhere!

Developing Your Talents Into An Online Income

January 6th, 2010

Wishing you could change your life? Planning on retiring? Wanting to become your own fabulous web owner to a skill that you thought was never going to get you any real income? Then you should take a little time to explore a home income opportunity that allows you to use your talents and skills to redirect your life.

Everything has become marketable. Whether your talent to design tattoos, teach guitar, or develop really great dog costumes has ever been a business idea for you before it certainly can be now. You can derive an income from just about anything if you learn a few basic skills.

Most of us remember or at least know about the great dot com crash of the 90s. Many web based gurus went belly up and had to start all over again. However, the marketing skills of today have opened up a whole new world for a great many people looking for something more. With search engine optimization becoming so simple to start it’s a wonder that anyone isn’t trying to fine tune their marketable skills.

SEO is actually a simple process, and now that it has become a commonplace methodology of making your site visible online, anyone can do it. It’s called article marketing and it helps give everyone a little something of what they need. You need exposure while your potential clients need information or entertainment. You can do this through article marketing.

Even just a few years ago it was difficult to figure out why some businesses flourished and others sank when they went live. The truth is, most people didn’t know how to get reasonable web results. They didn’t know how to market their site so that it could be easily found.

There are other opportunities to develop an online audience, but article marketing is that basis of reasonably priced search engine results. While your talent may be in something obscure or something very common, your message is now part of a growing number of potentially thriving websites.

If you have the inspiration to dream and the desire to do something different, then you already have three quarters of what it takes to develop your own income from your own skill or talent. Once you start, you are likely to be shocked how fast you can turn the direction of your life.

Temporary Internet

December 9th, 2009

Being a network support technician, I get the plenty of requests from clients and friends asking me to help delete their temporary Internet files. Being on a help line, I don’t have the authority to screen calls, however, in my private business I deal with issues like that all the time. It’s a wonder how much people worry about their junk files.

[Learn more about temporary internet files]

Internet temporary files are some of the most dreaded and misunderstood aspects of the personal computer experience. It isn’t just that people don’t understand computers well, although that is part of it.

Just as many people who own cars don’t know the first thing about the mechanics of an internal combustion engine, so many people who own computers don’t know the first thing about the way an operating system works.

Even so, there is more to it than that. Temporary Internet file hysteria definitely has a root causes beyond human ignorance and stupidity.Of course, one of the biggest problems is the media. Outside of the blogosphere, the media has never bothered to become tech literate.

Between Internet virus scares, e-mail scams, identity theft, and a half-dozen other issues, most people are terrified of their computers to some degree or another.

It is a true testament to the usefulness of the personal computer that they are still used. And no matter what the issue, temporary Internet files are always Given more than their fair share of the blame. Deleting cookies and temporary Internet files is almost seen as a panacea for inexplicable computer ills.

However, the problem goes beyond the media. It involves the way Windows are set up. Since majority of the computers we use today have Microsoft programming, and some of the inherent flaws in the system play a role in most people misunderstanding their computers.

Basically, Microsoft Windows often mismanages temporary files Internet as well as other junk files. They can become fragments, cluttering up your hard drive and slowing things down.

They can contain compromising information that can be conceivably harvested if your computer is hijacked. Although clearing off temporary Internet files is no substitute for the real solution – switching to Linux – it can still give people a false sense of security.

People don’t understand that their computer software is deeply flawed. They get conned buying programs designed to delete temporary Internet files (which they could do themselves) in the hope of providing greater security. In the end, who can blame them?

Joana Horde Leveling Guide Review

August 14th, 2009

World of Warcraft is not a game that can be completed over night. For some players might seem easy to get to the peak of the game, but even so, it requires quite an effort to achieve the level cap, to get decent equipment and to do instances. One thing is for sure, WoW wasn’t designed for solo players. Being a casual player, with just a few hours a week to play, I participate rarely at my guild’s raids and events. I take part in groups with other players from time to time, but it takes so much time and I cannot affor it, that is why i prefer solo.

When leveling a character I never had too much trouble with the lower levels, but after surpassing level 20, the XP bar always seemed stuck. Some players have a high level friends which help them, but I do not have such friends, that is why I chose a horde leveling guide.

First, I was sceptial about using such guides, but my passion to get to level 80 was so huge that i decided to start using a guide. The Horde leveling guide seemed excellent though. The guide showed how to level your character from level 1 to 80 in step-by-step format. Joana made a really good job designing a quest path, it is so easy to get from quest to quest that I enjoyes leveling my character like never before.

Joana’s leveling guide also has a mapmod which point quest locations on your game map, it makes your leveling process even easier. You will also notice, that when a mapmod is installed, a special arrow appears above your character, the arrow shows to the place you should go in order to complete the quest you are working on.

Puting this horde leveling guide to the test, I must say that I was really astounded, realizing that I managed to cut more than 50% of my leveling time. I used to use farming as my main leveling technique, however, I realised that it is not as effective as questing. I also recommend you to complete quests, it is much better. All in all, even as a noob for certain zones, my XP time was managed by the Horde leveling guide at maximum.

More People Buying and Selling Online Thanks To Social Media Websites

August 8th, 2009

Many people first got a real opportunity to experience online sales for themselves when Ebay launched and revolutionised the whole trading market. It gave people the power to release a few quick funds by selling objects that they had lying around, find an obscure item that they’d always wanted, or set up an online business and start trading properly from the comfort of their home. It is likely that Ebay will remain a highly used site for many years to come, but the prominence of online trading has now been taken to a new level by sites such as Twitter and Facebook that boast a more social capacity.

Facebook was among the first social networking sites that had the foresight to realise the potential of allowing their members to advertise items on their site. Their ‘marketplace’ quickly became an active community in itself and people even started setting up shops here, in the same way as you might do on Ebay. Being able to advertise online is nothing new however and sites like Gumtree and Craig’s List have done very well through allowing people to do this, but they find themselves struggling to compete against the newer socially-led networking sites. They encourage a more discerning buying process whereby you can do some background research on the seller, request more information, or even ask the opinion of some experts in the field. For example, before you make that commitment to buy one of those second hand bikes you can request more pics, query your friends about it, or ask those people who are hanging out in the cycling community section if you are making the right choice, and if not, what is the right one?

Another advancement has come about through sites such as Twitter, has been the ability for people to request the things they are looking for, rather than wait for someone else to advertise them. For example an extreme sports enthusiast might post on their twitter profile that they are looking for 7’6” surfboards, and because of the potential size and power of the networks here, they will likely find multiple people very quickly who have suitable surfboards for sale

Online Copy Creation – Good or Bad?

August 4th, 2009

Ask any old school copywriter and they will tell you that you need proper training and to cut your teeth at a regional newspaper before you can call yourself a pro.Lots of people these days however would argue that all you need to be a copywriter is a computer and some passion. There is even money to be made in online copywriting and sometimes relative fame.

It all begin when webmasters starting jotting down their generally thoughts and feelings on their blogs. When people read these posts and liked them they would come back for more and better still, tell other people about them. It was soon realised by this new breed of digital copywriters that they could accumulate quite a following and even get a good level of respect from readers and businesses alike. Many companies quickly cottoned on the fact that people were influenced by what they were reading online and started striking up deals with bloggers in return for good PR and recommendations. This adaption almost by corporate entities, and commercialism in general, has meant that digital copy is now without doubt one of the most important elements of the Internet as we know it.

You can now find information about almost any topic under the sun, like office insurance for example, and many argue that good content is the main factor in boosting the power of websites and generating traffic. This is evident in the success of the online versions of classic news paper publications, who now transfer their content onto the web and gain very high levels of traffic and the advertising income that comes with it.

There is however, as will everything, a downside to this digital copy revolution. The increase in prominence of badly written, poorly informed and often untrue copy is quite staggering nowadays. Further more, it is almost impossible to find out and prove who wrote what on the Internet, and even harder to get offensive material removed. This means that people can write whatever they like, about small business insurance news for example and not have to worry about ramifications, which is potentially very dangerous.

Another option is to maintain your own blog. You can accept paid assignments from companies where you post favorable reviews about their products and services.

This way you can market your products or services to more people rather an opening a shop or a company down the street. Promoting your product or services is one thing that you really need to concentrate on. Once you have mastered it, you can earn income whenever there is a sale.

Great Ways to Make Money Online

Can I Make Money From Home? Of Course You Can!

I have only owned sites for 4 months and in this time I have learned a lot of what to do and even more of what not to do. If you are wanting to make money online you want to know what I know now.

First things first, you need to take action when it comes to making money online. This is the first mistake most people make. They read tons of blogs about how to make money but they never get their hands dirty. You learn more doing than reading. So be prepared to take action.

The internet is the greatest equalizer in the world. That means age, race, gender, religion and personal politics have no effect on your ability to become wealthy online. If you are concerned that you are too young or too old for a traditional job, making money on the internet may be just the right thing for you. Internet auction houses often have ’sellers’ that are teenagers or senior citizens. Any age group is acceptable. You may ask: can I make money online even though I am a different race or gender than my customers? The answer, again, is of course you can. The internet makes such distinctions meaningless. The only thing that matters is your willingness to work and provide some value to your customers.

If you can write well, you could start making money in a matter of days as a freelance writer. Maybe opportunities to make your own money online in graphic arts or website design are more suited to your present talents. Coding is also an in demand service along with administrative work like accounting or virtual assistants. You’ll find ways to get started really fast and soon make your own money online with your own little service business on these websites: Guru
