It’s The New Cars That Can Learn New Tricks

August 18th, 2009

If you are asked which country you thought were at the forefront of technology advancement and innovation, you would probably think of Japan first.Their presence in the car markets have also been very powerful and Japan is renowned for producing high quality, reliable automobiles. It should come as no surprise then to learn that a Japanese auto-tech company has recently been in talks with some of the largest automobile companies in the world, including Ford and Chrysler, to provide their cars with the latest “intelligent” computer systems.

Microchips are nothing new in cars, powering things like traction control, ABS and navigation systems to name just a few.A while ago new technology arrived on the scene that had self-monitoring abilities beyond just being able to tell how much fuel it had left or if a car door was left open. They could now report on tire pressures, chassis forces, MIL spec cables and even road surface conditions. The company in Japan known as Copal Electronics have taken the micro chip to the next level however and using new Hellermann Tyton technology developed a car that can not only look after itself but can learn. If the car is driven around a corner in the wet at 30mph for example, and the rear wheels slide out, the car will note the road surface condition, speed, tire pressures, corning angle, weight of the car and many other factors and then make very subtle changes to things such as the circuit breakers sensitivity so that the same does not happen again.

The inventors of the technology claim that it will just keep getting better as the cars have more time to learn about roads and driving, eventually being able to handle almost any unwanted situation on their own.The big car producers will want to run their own tests on the technology before they start incorporating it into their cars, but most experts believe it will go mainstream within 5 years.

The Next Generation of Learning

July 5th, 2009

The benefits of e-learning are becoming more apparent the more we see this technology advance and make it possible to learn things without being face to face with a teacher.  No matter what you want to know you are going to be able to learn about using the method of e-learning.  Subjects can be anything imaginable from what is mesothelioma to the Obama education plan

E-learning is helping to aid distance learning and online schooling.  With the potential to take the teacher out of the equation we are finding it easier to get the learning message across to people that want more knowledge on any subject you can think of.  Electronic learning is the future and could fix the issues we see with our public school systems being shattered by lack of funding.  This is an area of interest that Barack Obama is starting to address as he sees both parties ignore the fact that our education system is not on pace with the rest of the 1st world.

Electronic learning is reshaping the way we receive information and retain knowledge.  The more this technology is used the more advanced it will become.  This technology is already estimated at being worth 38 billion euros.  E-learning is only going to grow as we now have more people participating in online education, personal wonder, and even distance learning.  The benefits of e-learning are making these methods of learning more efficient.  When you are able to teach by these means it opens up a whole new world of learning that never had as much potential as it does today.  Using the mail system to take classes and learn could wind being costly and lengthy.  This is breaking down the process into a more cost effective and timely way to get educated.

Since the Internet is changing everything, we know it was only a matter of time before it took over the way we retain and gain knowledge.  We are seeing this now with the evolution of electronic learning.  The benefits of e-learning are going to become more mainstream and more successful as time marches on.  It could not come at a better time in the United States, as we see our youth become clueless about anything that does not involve reality television and pop culture.  This is the true benefit of electronic learning because getting our youth turned around and aimed at wanting to be educated is only going to promise and secure a better tomorrow for everyone.
