Norton Antivirus – Does it Really Make Your Computer Run Faster?

August 6th, 2009

When computer security is the topic, it is already an assurance that Norton Antivirus will be mentioned. This cannot be denied because it is truly one of the most famous when it comes to security applications. Like all the other security applications available out there, this one is no different; it mainly wants to protect the computers of people from viruses and even spywares in their own homes.

The good thing about this application is that it has various levels of defense from viruses; it also protects your web browsing and even a system recovery tool. Another good thing about the Norton Antivirus is that it automatically updates itself with a time interval of five to fifteen minutes. People will also not have a hard time finding viruses in their system because this application scans very quickly and efficiently. That is why there is really a small chance that malicious programs will be able to infest your computer. In addition to this, it will not be too much burden to install it in your hard drive because it only consumes a small space amounting to about 8MB.

But with all these features, I am sure that many people are still wondering if it can seriously slow down the performance of a computer. Of course it is already a given that we want a virus-free computer, but we also want to have a very efficient computer that can help us accomplish the things that we need to do. According to several forums dominated by people who have personally used Norton Antivirus as their personal security application for a computer, they have experienced drastic effects upon installing the said application.

Some people who have used it were disappointed because of the fact that it can’t really protect their system from latest systems threat even when the application is being updated regularly. The worst part about it is that many people’s systems crashed because of the inability of this application to protect them. Another apparent manifestation that this application is really slowing down the system is that it takes too much time for the computer to start up.

The Norton Antivirus was tested by experts to see if it can really perform its job when already used by actual users. These experts stated that with certain hardware specifications, the said antivirus can do its job properly. They tried to compare the performance of a computer before and after the security application was installed. They even found out that this application really uses up just a maximum of 8MB of your hard drive space. Even the time one needs to be able to scan a memory with 37GB of data in it was even tested and they found out that it will only take this application 25 minutes to scan everything and make sure that there aren’t any dangerous processes in your system.

Even though the tests mentioned above were performed, it is still obvious that the application is not considered by many as effective. This just means that not everyone can really benefit from the Norton Antivirus because it seems like it will only work for computers with specific requirements.

RegCure-Does it Really Work?

August 5th, 2009

RegCure is one of the most popular registry cleaner programs on the internet. However, it has some of the worst features that are going to lead more and more people to calling it a scam.

One of the worst features of the program is when it allows a user to select which portions of the registry to scan. Not only does this give users the ability to miss out on potential infections, but it is very dangerous to someone who does not know what they are doing. People could expect the program to work, and then nothing happens because they are not scanning the right part of the registry. Also, some users might experience weird system crashes due to a file being fixed but not completely removed because of the partial scanning feature.

Scheduled scans are another one of RegCure’s most touted features. However, they are one of its most difficult to use features. Some users are unable to scan unless they physically press a button when the scan starts. Also, most users of RegCure are not aware of where this feature is located in the program when they install it.

The program loves to tout its ability to monitor and cleanup a users startup programs. While this may seem like it is a great feature on the surface, it can be a real pain in the butt for some users. Users who do not know enough about their computer may be confused by the complex wording of this feature, and ultimately feel like they did not want to delete the files that were in their startup folder.

A few users have begun reporting that when they are using the program, they are receiving illegal operation error messages and then the computer is shutting down. Some of the same group of users have said that once they have booted in safe mode, and removed RegCure they have been able to use their computer normally once again. While this could be associated with a registry error itself, it is more likely a program issue with the program itself.

Another downside to the program is that it does not include a defrag feature. Many other registry editors include this feature, and it can be great for people trying to fit more items onto their hard drive. However, RegCure does not include it, making a lot of users irritated until they find the defrag feature built into windows.

RegCure only has one backup method, which is concerning to a lot of people. Some other registry editors include three or more methods to backup your registry in case of a problem. RegCure also does not include the option to go directly to the regedit screen and export the backup yourself. This is the only sure way to backup your registry, even if the program says it does it for you! In order to fix the registry problems on your computer, make sure to use a proven registry cleaner that will remove everything!

Error Doctor-Learn Why it Doesn’t Work!

August 1st, 2009

The Error Doctor program has been claiming a lot of functions and applications under its belt which has been invalidated with regards to the tests conducted by hundreds of computer laboratories around the net. Basically, the Error Doctor can only do so much considering the fact that many of the viruses and errors encountered in the process of using the internet and installing programs would create disruption and damage in the long run.

The issue with regards to the function of the Error Doctor is that many of the process it creates to fix the main problems of the computer only reach a superficial area where in the deep and well established error files tend to corrupt the whole system. Basically, the computer files are very sensitive to the different interruptions and disruptions created by the everyday programs used by the computer owners. Many people do not know that even though files are separated by folders and drives, they are tightly connected to each other which explain computer failure in the long run when something bad or corrupted is introduced. When something is deleted or removed in the computer memory, this would create a blank or a void that would be constantly serve as a loophole which would either slow down the reading process or would create countless errors and misreads in the part of the hardware. The Error Doctor fails to establish the main function it claims to do which is to minimize failure and maximize computer performance by improving how the program runs and loads. The software only goes in the superficial level to deal with the different strains in the system and does not implement a comprehensive change for a better reading capability in the part of the hardware. Most people do not understand that the hardware and software parts of the computer are complementary. This would mean that every change implemented in either of the two would directly contribute to changes which are evident on how the computer runs. The Error Doctor does not really fix the software counter part of the system which shows on how the hardware performs.

The Error Doctor simply scans and reconfigures the basic function of the system files and does not really revise the important system files which is the real cause of all the troubles and slowing down of the computer. Basically, the Error Doctor only targets the folders and does not have the capability to cover the subfolders contained deeply which makes it very hard to change the supposedly irreversible damages.

The Error Doctor is not advisable to deal with the heaviest and most damaging problems encountered in the computer use. This is because the software can only tough the tip of the errors and is not really that flexible in creating practical and functional solutions to change the different situations. The people should find the best registry cleaner in order to solve this problem and succeed in establishing an optimum functionality for their computer. This made thousands of computer users unprepared since the error doctor failed in many aspects.

RegCure Reviewed – Why it Doesn’t Work!

July 31st, 2009

There are a lot of problems that require a registry cleaner to solve them such as computer sluggishness or computer freezing, which is why a lot of companies have gone into this kind of business and have designed and distributed all kinds of registry cleaners available for downloading immediately. Unfortunately, only a few are able to solve most of the problems that computer owners face everyday due to registry cleaner scams and frauds that have been circling the market for a long time already. One of these scams that have not only destroyed systems but also forced people to reformat their computers and lose a lot of time and money is RegCure and this review is going to show you why it is a bad choice.

Even by just downloading the trial version, a lot of problems have already occurred when using RegCure to fix the computer’s Windows registry. The first step that one would normally do is to download the trial version to see if the program really works. The thing with RegCure though is that it only detects and pinpoints a few registry errors and won’t repair them unless you purchase the full version from the official website. The only tasks that the trial version can do are to fix your font, clear out the Temporary files folder, and the like. These you can do all on your own without having to install the program, which is definitely a big thumbs-down already. And purchasing the full version, which is an astounding $29.95, doesn’t help at all because it not only fails to fix and repair the damaged registry files but it ruins the entire system all together. There have been reports that those who purchased the program are unable to start up their computer with error messages coming up. What’s more, those who wish to contact the RegCure customer support won’t be able to do so because of two reasons: 1) They won’t be able to connect to the internet, and 2) If you are able to connect, nobody behind the company will get in touch with you. This is already a big indication of a scam going on behind the curtains, which is why you shouldn’t purchase this registry cleaner online.

If you’re wondering if these problems are really true, you can visit forums and complaint boards where people who have problems and negative reviews about programs and all other software that they downloaded off the net. By doing this, they can notify the innocent and warn them from downloading and wasting their time and money on them. RegCure is definitely included in the list of useless programs and scams since there isn’t any customer support to assist people with the program’s problems, nor is there any way to get a refund despite the 60-day money back guarantee posted on the website. Overall, this registry cleaner definitely gets a 0 out of 5 rating for not only ruining a computer’s system but also being a scam as well.
