DJ Hero this fall

August 28th, 2009

With the success of Guitar Hero Activision have announced the new DJ Hero which is set to be released in October of this year. The real qustion to be asked here is that is going to be a huge hit or fall into the pit that Nintendo are digging for themselves.

There have already been confirmations on major artists being in the game like the Black Eyed Peas and Eric Prydz so it is hard to see that it won't at least attract the people into that kind of music. Of course buyers of the Guitar Hero World Tour are very unlikely to purchase this as it is the complete opposite music style. As well as this a recent poll has shown that the majority of people do not actually want or even care about this game and to be honest it is completely understandable as playing in a rock band is a much higher dream than being a DJ.

The major problem that Activision faces is the gamers themselves. They have fought very well in the games industry recently with blinding titles like Assassins Creed and Guitar Hero it would be a great shame to see their hard earned cash invested into something that simply is not going to sell. The fact is far less people are interested in being a DJ than rocking out on the drums or guitar so less people are going to buy the game.

Although on paper this does sound like a good diea is it really going to kick off in the same way that Guitar Hero did. Perhaps game developers should start making games for gamers again and not for the people that haven’t touched a game in their lives, a lot of people would rather buy the proper DJ equipment and DJ software than buy this game but until release date of October it is hard to say for sure how well this game will sell.

Of course if you are already a DJ headphones are very important and it is always good to have a pair that protects your ears when performing.

Has Guitar Hero met its match

August 22nd, 2009

Many have dreamed of becoming rock stars when they grow up havent they? When the very first Guitar Hero game was released it enabled people to do just that. No more was it that you had to spend hours at a time trying to learn how to play the guitar when all you had to do is plug in a controller to the Xbox 360 and away you go! Although it may not be as satisfying as playing your favourite rock guitar solo on a real guitar, Guitar Hero fills the gap by enablng you to do this on a games console.

There are now many bands out there now who love the game such as ACDC and Metallica and have endorsed the name and even bought out games side by side Guitar Hero to enable their fans to play all of their favourite songs on the game itself.

Adding World Tour to the fanchise bought it more multiplayer via the drums and microphone as well as adding more songs to the setlist and enabling fans to form a band over Xbox Live.

However it is also true to say that many bands absolutely hate the product saying that fans should refuse to buy the product and take up a real instrument. There is of course no better alternative than actually playing a real instrument which is something that the game understands but what bands do not undertand is how much time and effort needs to be put in to actually learn an instrument.

The problem is for anbody wanting become a DJ it is very costly and time consuming which is where DJ Hero comes into it. Of course buying all your own DJ equipment and DJ software is expensive and not to mention hard work, could Activision have it right again with this or are they simply going too far?

Of course if you already are a DJ why not purchase some Behringer headphones to make those ears a it safer when you are playing a set.
