Mini Cell Phone Generation

January 6th, 2010

Cell (mobile) phones have been on a serious diet since their conception well over a decade ago. They once resembled hard-back books, and now you can find phones smaller than a pack of chewing gum. However, as people began to demand more of their phones, such as wanting them to include cameras and MP3 players for example, phones started getting bigger again. Handsets such as the iphone and other ’smart’ phones did have improved styling, but are considerably larger than many of the previous generation handsets. That said, cell phones could soon be shrinking yet again.

As mobile Internet connectivity becomes increasing more widespread and the speeds continue to increase almost daily, there is a dwindling need to store all your applications and files on the phone itself. Instead of the phone hosting all the information, your games, files and applications can be fed in from somewhere else when required. Phones don’t have to be multi functional devices all the time then, they just have to show whichever information and do whichever job is being requested of them at any one time.

A central hub will be needed and this can be either be located in your home or with your service provider. On the central hub you will have all the software and individual files that you need for your phone to function and you will be able to access these using your handset at any time. You will still need a certain amount of hardware in the phone, such as a camera and other electrical components, but you will be able to save huge amounts of space where memory, processors and mini ac fans would normally be found. This means then that phones could be not much bigger than cable ties and you could even wear them as accessories such on a necklace or as a wrist-band. The phone would be liberated from its conventional state and could take any shape you desire.

After HTC Hero, It’s HTC Legend

January 2nd, 2010

Recently I started following a tech blog, and since then I find myself much more familiar to all the gadgets and software applications or any news related to technology. It was here I had read about HTC Hero, one of the latest Android devices, which is known for its ease of usability, and few other features. And now next in the line of HTC device is HTC Legend.

HTC legend may not be completely unlike from Hero, but it has few finer features. In fact, HTC Legend is an upgraded adaptation of HTC Hero.  The screen size and resolution of the two devices are same; it is in the display of the two phones that the major difference comes. Also HTC Legend will be the first cell phone to have an AMOLED touch screen.

Intro To AMOLED Touchscreen:

AMOLED is an Active matrix organic light emitting diode. It is used for display technologies in cell phones.

Along with having AMOLED touch screen, HTC Legend will also have a very fast Qualcomm processor. The launch date of the phone has yet not been declared, but it will be brought out sometime in Feb, 2010, followed by Google phone and Xperia10.  Price of the phone is yet to be revealed.  Before Hero was launched, there was HTC Tattoo (it ran on the Operating System Android 1.6) where user could customize everything as per one’s need.  In short, HTC tattoo was a Smartphone.

Written below are a few specs of the phone (HTC Legend)

Quad-band GSM/EDGE, dual band WCDMA/HSPA (900/2100)
3.2″ HVGA AMOLED capacitive touch screen
Android 2.x
600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor
5 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash
WiFi
Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR
GPS/AGPS, G-sensor, digital compass
3.5 mm audio jack
microSD support
latest versions of HTC’s People and Footprint
micro USB

The year 2010 may see a lot of new cell phones!

One Accessory Made For Cell Phones That Is Often Overlooked

December 2nd, 2009

When it comes to buying a cell phone, whether or not it’s for yourself or Wholesale Cell Phones that you’re planning on reselling, there is one accessory, available for GSM Cell Phones, that many people overlook.  So you know that carrying cases and belt clips make up the most typical of all cellular accessories, and some of them are from the didn’t Know You needed It Department.  But there’s one accessory that is’s likely to once have been overlooked because it’s from the did not Even Know It Was An Accessory Department!  Indeed, it’s not even an object that goes with a phone, but a service that is’s performed on one.  It is an accessory that will certainly help to increase the resale value of Wholesale Cell Phones you had purchased. But before you protest this is just a question of semantics, recall first what it suggests to accessorize something, anything.  Accessories help you to use something better, somehow enhancing your overall experience, don’t they?  Well, unlocking your telephone will actually boost cellular experience better than any accessory!  Unlock your GSM cell telephone and get the last word in cellular accessories, in this sense : the one true must-have of them all!

But what if your service carrier should object?  But that’s not very likely.  For aside from some sort of stipulation in your contract that obliges you with never changing your telephone in any way, ever, it is your telephone : you do own it!  Besides, the carrier makes cash with no regard for whether the phone is locked.  And even the presence of such a clause might not need to deter you, as you can probably still unlock your telephone all the same.  Ultimately, you almost certainly would not unlock your phone at all unless you were switching to another carrier in which case the old carrier’s protests don’t matter!

It’s simply too bad that many a carrier programs its GSM phones to not work with SIM cards from another.  Unlock your GSM telephone and you undermine this programming.  You can easily determine whether your telephone is already unlocked by simply sticking another SIM card into it.  Nokia telephones can often become unlocked through codes that can be cost-effectively acquired, but the manual input of secret codes is just one way to unlock a GSM phonephone.  Certain telephones need a firmware rewrite, or firmware reflashing, so the handset must be despatched to a company with the mandatory hardware.  But not all corporations can service all makes and models of cell phones, so check first to see whether your particular phonephone can be reflashed.  But do keep any unlocking codes safe for future reference, as there was 1 report of a carrier really relocking a telephone even though that phone wasn’t even one issued by the carrier!

Want To Call Long Distance Without Bills?

February 16th, 2009

People are always in constant communication today unlike in the past decades, communication is only for a few people. But now anyone has his own mobile phone, his own laptop, his own desktop computer and in his computer or laptop, there is sure to be a VOIP (voice over internet protocol) install somewhere on the hard disk. With VOIP, they can get to call anyone they want through the Internet without paying much for long distance calls. Do you remember what is like long ago to speak to an operator while you are trying to make some phone calls overseas and do you remember who much it cost just for a 60-seconds or an hour call? Yesterday, air time is not that common and not that expensive but today, because of technology, air time is also getting expensive. That’s why, there are VOIPs and one of them is in the form of Magic Jack.

Magic Jack is a type of VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol that relies on your computer’s internet connection in order to place calls locally or abroad. All you ever have is just a USB Cable and that’s basically it and upon receiving the cable or device, you can at once start making calls. Upon plugging the device, the software is automatically downloaded from the Net while you’re in the process of registering. Right now, a lot of people are using MagicJack rather than other VOIPs and they have good reasons why.

First of all, according to some Magic Jack reviews site, setting up MagicJack is very easy. And the best part is, they have a 24/7 tech who is on standby, willing to give you some additional information and help in setting up your Magic Jack. Magic Jack is also very affordable compared to cell phones. Sure, you might have different network services like Yahoo! Messenger or Skype where you can also communicate with other people but if you want a less expensive way of calling anyone over the phone, then, Magic Jack is your best option.

Two of the neatest online tools that are on the internet for anybody to use

February 9th, 2009

You might think I’m a loser and you can think that if you want, but since I was young I have been fascinated by spy gadgets.  When I was young I was a big detective story fan and was constantly buying different spy gadgets.  Yeah I know – I’m a geek!

Ok, so today I don’t check out Sherlock Holmes anymore, but I still am intrigued by a few of the tools that are now available.  Now I don’t order gadgets from any catalogues, I now get my “fix” by going on the internet.

The internet now makes it possible to do investigations on just about anyone just by typing a few letters.  Let’s have a look at two of the detective tools I use a bunch.

The first one I often use is a reverse cell phone lookup.  This tool lets you type in a phone number and then find out details on who owns the phone.  Simply by typing in the phone number you can discover someone’s name, home address plus all sorts of other personal details.

This comes in handy for a number of reasons.  There might be times when I see a number that isn’t familiar on my call display or I have even received text messages that I didn’t know where they were coming from.

The next one I use is an online criminal background check.  You can find out lots of details on anyone just by punching in their name at a background search site.  The searches are instant and display to you the person’s criminal history (if any), marriage records, employment records and a whole bunch of other info.

what I like about these tools is that they make me feel like a detective right from home.  It’s really cheap to use either of these tools and they are useful in all sorts of circumstances.  Enjoy!
