Sony Ericson To Out With MS500 Wireless Speaker

December 17th, 2009

After IS800 Bluetooth Headset, Sony Ericson is all set to introduce yet another interesting accessory – MS500 wireless speaker. MS500 is a 2 watt, bluetooth 2.1 wireless speaker for listening to music. Sony Ericson’s new wireless speaker is good, but like any gadget or accessory it comes with its flaws.

First let’s read the advantages that the Sony Ericson MS500 wireless speaker has:

•    You can connect the speaker with almost all devices (except the iPhone and the ubiquitous Nokia)
•    The look is pretty good.
•    Sony Ericson wireless speaker is splash proof
•    On connection with any Sony Ericson walkman headset, the output voice quality is very good.
•    The reception range of the speaker is good. (The speakers would play good audio even when the device is in an adjacent closed room).
•    The speaker’s battery life is for 5 hours, which is pretty good.
•    Also, you can use rechargeable batteries in the speaker.

So those were the good points of Sony Ericson’s wireless speaker. Now read below a few flaws:

•    The speaker doesn’t not work well when connected with Nokia cell phone and iPhone, which makes it unsuitable for those with iPhones and Nokia cell phones. (Give it a try using it with some Nokia phone, the voice quality is really poor).
•    There is no volume control system integrated in the speaker. To set the volume you need to switch to your mobile phone.
•    The voice quality is good only for a quite place, not when you are driving your bike or so.

That was a quick review of some advantages and some disadvantages of Sony Ericson’s MS500 wireless speaker. To see what the new wireless speaker looks like, click Sony Ericson MS500 Wireless Speaker.

But the only hurdle, which is a very strong one, this speaker could face is its mismatch with the mighty iPhone. After all, who would want a speaker, wireless though, that doesn’t go with their iPhones?
