Farmville Crop Mastery

January 8th, 2010

Farmville creator Zynga has just added crop mastery into their game. You begin working on mastery as soon as you reach level 10 and will keep on adding points toward it throughout your farming career. For every successful square of land that you harvest, you earn one point of mastery. For instance, a 16×16 field of ripe potato will give you 256 mastery points. You can check on your points on a certain crop by going to the Market and reading the note underneath every picture of harvest. There is a progress bar and 3 stars to help you figure out where you are in mastering the crop. To master a certain crop, complete the three stars!

How to Master a Crop
Plant a crop. Then harvest it. Plant it once more. Harvest it once more. Do these steps lots of times. Every crop has a different number of points needed to master it.

Point of Mastery
Mastery is really not about farmville coins ,it is more about bragging rights. You receive a sign that you can show on your property when you attain all three levels of mastery. Other people will be aware that you have mastered a particular crop when they see the sign. Furthermore, mastery also keeps the game fascinating as you begin to get into higher levels where you don’t unlock new crops or items.

Once you get mastery of a crop, you unlock the ability to harvest premium crops. Premium crops happen by chance throughout your harvest. It earns you additional xp as well. Remember that it only take effect for the crop that you currently have mastery in. Post it near the field as you may also need to use the sign that you get with your achievement. You level up faster by getting extra xp points, if you master a couple crops. So that you can go through as many harvests as possible, you will likely would like to choose something with a somewhat quick harvest time.
